In 2006, I was in the process of furnishing a house by the coast and I had difficulty finding a comprehensive collection of high quality, affordable, sea inspired home accessories. At one end of the market, there are clichéd seaside products e.g. seagulls on a stick, ornamental life rings; at the other end, there are over-priced, gallery art pieces.

By creating Gideon's Harbour, I wanted to establish a "one-stop shop" for affordable, handcrafted, original gifts and home accessories that have been inspired by the sea and coastal living. I am keen to feature stylish gift ideas and accessories for the home from a range of artists and craftsmen and women. In order to keep our selection of products unique and fresh, we trawl trade exhibitions and craft fairs for new artists and items. Our items are selected to sit equally well in a coastal home or an urban, contemporary apartment. Many of our products will bring the colours and qualities of the sea into your home, with cool, watery blues and gently rippling patterns.

We only sell our products on-line and as a result, our prices are extremely competitive as we have fewer overheads than galleries and shops. I hope you enjoy Gideon's Harbour as much as I have enjoyed creating it.
